No Cepha I haven't. But, I've heard them say that Mary is actually above Jesus. That Mary was born without an inheritent sin nature. That would make her above Him since He was both flesh and deity. And that I cannot understand. If that is so about Mary, then Jesus was completely deity. And there has not been an exchange at the cross for mankind. I dunno Jacee, i dont quite believe you have ever heard a Catholic say that Mary is above Jesus. Why, because that is not what the Catholic church teaches or believes. Its almost impossible for a Catholic to believe that...the only reason i can think of of why they would is that they are INSANE and have their OWN interpretation of things. Which would be a sad case.

No Cepha I haven't. But, I've heard them say that Mary is actually above Jesus. Well, if you've heard a Catholic say that Mary was above Jesus, they would automatically be excommunicated for such a statement. I don't believe that all Protestants are pedophiles and polygamists though some are, so you shouldn't believe that everything a person claiming to be Catholic is believed or even taught by The Church. There are Catholics that actually believe in contraception, abortion and divorce while The Church teaches against it. It doesn't make The Church wrong. It makes them personally wrong. I've never heard a Catholic say that Mary was above Jesus. Never. Even when I was a rabid anti-Catholic myself. Matter of fact, this is the first time in my 38 years of life that I hear this. Well, that's true. Now you're just inserting your own beliefs into what we believe. That Mary would be above Jesus just because she herself was protected from sin by God so that His Son would have an immaculate womb from which to be produced in no way places Mary above Jesus Christ. Jesus The Man is The Fruit of Mary "the woman". Whatever He is as Man, He got from the tree that produced Him. Because no rotten tree can produce good fruit and because nothing good can from from anything bad according to Jesus Christ, Mary had to be good from the start. Better than Jesus? That my friend is blasphemous to even suggest that. I feel dirty just repeating what you wrote to be honest.

Hi Cepha------------ did you know that Mohammad actually thought that Christians worshiped Mary as the third part of the trinity? much love-------------knuckle They even saw her as a Prophetess believing that whomever was spoken to by God or by one of His Angels, this title was conferred upon them. I don't know much about Islam, but I cannot recall ever having heard that Muslims taught that Mary was worshipped at all. Is this in The Koran? Or was this a teaching "after" The Koran was written? Yep. That's how I see it too CC. I've never heard a Catholic say that Mary was above Jesus. That to me sounds like slander.

I'd like to see more talk on God. I'd love to see this thread light up like the Marian thread has and surpass her thread (there seems to be such and unhealthy devotion to belittling and to attacking her). It's evident that Jesus is less important than Mary to some because most of the responses here are focused on Mary unfortunately and that has led to more and more discussion of her. But even greater than Jesus is God The Father. All 3 are 1, yes (along with The Holy Spirit), Denominational Christians almost never talk about God. but only 1 is superior. God to Whom Jesus and The Holy Spirit are subject. In this Forum, we are going to focus on God. Like Jesus does. ;D Who told you that?

Yes, when my church says "Jesus" we also mean God. Unless we're talking about Salvation...because that was by Jesus to the Father. But salvation is a work of Jesus. Not an identity. Now... since his identity "is" God, doesn't that make Mary God's mother too? LOL! You know I'm just hounding you until you give me an answer! I'm not even supposed to be talking about Mary here! ;D Since the only way to God is through Jesus it only makes sense that Jesus would be the main focal point.
