Question.... Why dont baptists believe in Saints? Or call them Saints? Because it's a Catholic Belief. Christians have always believed in The Communion of Saints. It's just post 16th Century non-Catholic Christians that don't accept this part of traditional Christianity.

Well let me pull out my Baptist cap ------ there we go-----
Baptist believe in the saints both living and dead old covenant and new.
They love Peter and John and Paul and Mary.
they do not venerate nor elevate them however as they are flesh and blood just as we are sinners saved by grace called to walk a predestined path
Did Pete and the boys do great things?of course, were they great men of God?certainly-- but because God is great --the carnal mind being enmity against God.
Now pulling off the Baptist cap
Had there not been a Simon bar Jonah God would have provided another "rock"the same goes for Paul John James all of them. And though you are gonna be displeased---Had a virgin named Mary not found favor with God He would have found one that did.
Pro 16:1 The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.
Pro 16:4 The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil
Eph 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
Pro 20:24 Man's goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?
Pro 21:1 The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.
Jer 10:23 O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.
much love to you,Saint Marcie---------------------knuckle

True. Baptists believe that all believers are Saints even though in scripture, only resurrected holy dead men are ever called Saints or Church Leaders (by Paul when he refers to them as "holy ones"). And also true, they are starting to study Mary and her role in Salvation and her example as the first Christian without the personal love that Catholics have for her. Which in my opinion is a great thing. I don't expect any Christian faith to love her as we do, but it's nice to know that some of them are not feeling as if they are worshipping her just in recognizing what role she played in Jesus' life.

But when talking about the saints, I have noticed that they do not call them st. Peter, they call him Peter. Ya know.
BTW Cepha, i dont think i ever told ya, but my mom got me this golden book, its a small but thick book called "SAINTS" A year in faith and art. It is neat, it has every saint and info about them. There is a St. for every day of the year. Pretty neat!

But when talking about the saints, I have noticed that they do not call them st. Peter, they call him Peter. Ya know. Right. Since we believe all born-again Christians are saints, there's no point to just call certain people saints.

Nope.
27Peter answered him, "We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?"
28Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
(Matthew 19)
4I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5(The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. (Rev. 20)
Clearly, there are Apostles and Saints and Martyrs that have special honor in Heaven. That doesn't mean that God loves them more, but it's silly to say that God doesn't honor certain people above others if He so desires.

IMO that doesn't make them more important, they just have a different/additional role in heaven.

Why would it matter if someone was more "important" in heaven?
"The Son of Man is going to come in his Father's glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done."(Matthew 16)
30 But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first. (Matthew 19)
Those who have served and sacrificed the most will have the greatest honor in Heaven. Those who were the most humble will be the most exalted.
I will just be happy to be there, and will be pleased to give honor to those who God pleases that honor be given. (and not just in heaven, but also now)
The Church has always honored Mary, the Mother of God.
35And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. 36And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. 37For with God nothing shall be impossible. 38And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her. (Luke 1)
48For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. (Luke 1)
15Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. 16O LORD, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds. (Psalm 116)

I still don't see how that makes anyone more important than someone else.
