Cepha, can you vote? Dont you live in puerto rico? Just wondering... I live in New York. Yes, I can vote. Here's how it goes: Puerto Ricans who are not residents "in" The States cannot vote "in" the election (although they can in the primary). However, Puerto Ricans that are residents "in" one of the States can vote. We are all born Citizens, all literally serve in the armed forces, all pay taxes, we just can't vote in the Presidential Election because of our status of "not" being a state. Technically though, Puerto Ricans are overwhelmingly very Conservative Democrats.

George Bush has been in office for 7 1/2 years. The first six the economy was fine. A little over one year ago: 1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high; 2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon; 3) the unemployment rate was 4.5%. 4) the DOW JONES hit a record high--14,000 + 5) American's were buying new cars, taking cruises, vacations overseas, living large!...
But American's wanted 'CHANGE'! So, in 2006 they voted in a Democratic Congress and yes--we got 'CHANGE' all right. In the PAST YEAR: 1) Consumer confidence has plummeted ; 2) Gasoline is now over $4 a gallon & climbing!; (well it WAS) 3) Unemployment is up to 5.5% (a 10% increase); 4) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $12 TRILLION DOLLARS and prices are still dropping; 5) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure. 6) as I write, THE DOW is probing another low~~ $2.5 TRILLION DOLLARS HAS EVAPORATED FROM THEIR STOCKS, BONDS & MUTUAL FUNDS INVESTMENT PORTFOLIOS !
YES, IN 2006 AMERICA VOTED FOR CHANGE...AND WE SURE GOT IT ! ....
REMEMBER THE PRESIDENT HAS NO CONTROL OVER ANY OF THESE ISSUES, ONLY CONGRESS.
AND WHAT HAS CONGRESS DONE IN THE LAST TWO YEARS, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
NOW THE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT CLAIMS HE IS GOING TO REALLY GIVE US CHANGE ALONG WITH A DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS !!!!
JUST HOW MUCH MORE 'CHANGE' DO YOU THINK YOU CAN STAND ?

ok, so i just left my maw maw's and she was putting into perspective of what will happen if Obama gets presidency. If you die and have more than 650000, the amount over that goes to the government. He says that he is going to give a tax break to the middle class that make under 45,000 or so. But in reality, those who only make 40-45000 DONT PAY MUCH TAXES OR ANY AT ALL ANYWAYS. My family income is at like 48000, so that is going to put my family paying more taxes. And she said their would be a cabinet full of radicals. And she told me much more, but i forgot. Point being is that people need to wake up and not vote for this guy, people are going to lose jobs and its going to be bad if he does win. Lets all pray this does not happen.

Joe the Plumber who makes 250,000 a year likes McCain better because McCain would give Joe 7,800 dollars where Obama would only give him 12 the top two tiers really show the difference though ........ much love---------------------knuckle

Hmmm...He's another Palin (in other words, not all they claim to be). Turns out he's "not" a plumber, doesn't have a license to operate a business and only makes $40,000. a year which means that he would benefit more (as would 95% of the country) under Obama's plan since only 5% of the country earn more than $250,000. a year. When I heard about all his little revelations, I remembered how I heard about Sarah Palin actually being "for" the bridge to nowhere before she was against it and besides, it was already defunct by the time she was against it. The most hypocritical thing was that people were upset about the money more than the bridge. Guess what Sarah did...she kept the money for the bridge anyway. She's actually the biggest Pork Governor around.

Honestly, Obama will raise taxes within 2 years if he is elected for the middle class. I swear it.

That's it Obama, tax the rich to death so they cant hire guys like me to work for them, then I'll be out of a job. So I guess putting more money in 95% of the popluations' pockets would kill jobs? How is that? More people would spend money thereby neccessitating the hiring of more people to handle the increased demand of services and goods. Republicans' "trickle down" theory has never worked. When you give bigger breaks to the wealthy than to the working class, the wealthy don't "trickle" it down...they pocket it. But when you put more money in the hands of the working class (the lifeline of the economy), then that's when you get outstanding economic growth (remember the Clinton years?). I'm a business owner (not a wannabe like Joe the unlicensed unemployed non-back tax payin' book deal searchin future congressional candidate). I would rather have customers that could afford my services than tax breaks. All the tax breaks in the world won't pay my bills if I don't have the customers to give me the work in the first place. If you disproportionately tax my customers, guess what happens? Well we don't have to guess...just look at what's happened since Bush did that as soon as he took office? It's so funny when I hear all these working class Republicans cry about taxing the wealthy! LOL! On what do you base this theory on? Source?

If you want to talk about failed social policies we can talk about socialism and Marxism that you democrats seem to love so much.
As for economics, more businesses support republicans than democrats. Why?
Bottom line, they are better for buisness. =P

If you want to talk about failed social policies we can talk about socialism and Marxism that you democrats seem to love so much. I am not a Democrat. I am a registered Republican. Because Republicans are business friendly. They push trickle down economics. Reverse RobinHoodism...you know...give to the rich and hope they give it back? Really? With a Republican controlled Senate, Congress and Presidency, how good have these past two terms been? Hmmm... Remember the last time we had a budget surplus and record breaking economic growth? The Clinton Days. Clinton wasn't a Republican. What have Republicans brought us? Record breaking deficits, debt, squandering of our surplusses, unjust war, an outrageous amount of scandals & corruption (especially all the gay scandals), etc... Thank Heaven their on their way out so we can get back to having a prosperous America like we used to under President Bill Clinton.

Well then I know what you must do.
Change your name from Cepha to Judas Iscariot. +P
That and we never had an overrideable majority, nor control of congress for the past two years. And now our country is in ruins. For Shame Cepha, for shame!!
Unjust war? Not according to St. Thomas' just war theory.
K it's clear you were never a republican. Its kind of like the white guy claiming to have some black relative for argument purposes was ridiculous.

Well then I know what you must do. Change your name from Cepha to Judas Iscariot. +P (Let's see if I can actually get an answer out of you besides an insult...) Why? Um, our country has been in ruins since Bush took office. Where have you been for the past 8 years? Remember? Budget surplus before Bush? Budget deficit within his first term? Hello? Earth to Red Sox Fan! LOL! According to The Pope. And we don't follow Thomas, we follow The Pope. The Pope called it an unjust war. I'll side with The See of Peter and with Barack on this one! So who's right? Your "interpretation"? Or the "official" Church position on the matter? If you say you are, then you are in direct opposition to The Church...Just like that "Apostle" you compared me to (whom I will not call you). "The Roman Catholic Church, led by Pope John Paul II, opposed the U.S.-led war in Iraq."www.americancatholic.org/News/JustWar/Iraq/And now, I'll probably get blamed for injecting "race" into this exchange.

Notice to All Employees
As of November 5, 2008, when President Obama is officially elected into office, our company will instill a few new policies which are in keeping with his new, inspiring issues of change and fairness:
1. All salespeople will be pooling their sales and bonuses into a common pool that will be divided equally between all of you. This will serve to give those of you who are underachieving a 'fair shake.'
2. All low level workers will be pooling their wages, including overtime, into a common pool, dividing it equally amongst yourselves. This will help those who are 'too busy for overtime' to reap the rewards from those who have more spare time and can work extra hours.
3. All top management will now be referred to as 'the government.' We will not participate in this 'pooling' experience because the law doesn't apply to us.
4. The 'government' will give eloquent speeches to all employees every week, encouraging it's workers to continue to work hard 'for the good of all.'
5. The employees will be thrilled with these new policies because it's 'good to spread the wealth.' Those of you who have underachieved will finally get an opportunity; those of you who have worked hard and had success will feel more 'patriotic.'
6. The last few people who were hired should clean out their desks. Don't feel bad, though, because President Obama will give you free healthcare, free handouts, free oil for heating your home, free food stamps, and he'll let you stay in your home for as long as you want even if you can't pay your mortgage. If you appeal directly to our democratic congress, you might even get a free flat screen TV and a coupon for free haircuts (shouldn't all Americans be entitled to nice looking hair?) !!!
If for any reason you are not happy with the new policies, you may want to rethink your vote on November 4th.
