Heather.... in the state of tx if you have a felony on your record, you cannot have a gun of any sort. I believe but not sure that goes for every state. And no you cannot "legally" own an automatic gun or silenser. Wes is a lifetime member of the NRA, and we have pistols and shotgun to protect our home. We do not hunt but anyone who gets past my german shepherd gets shot. I will do whatever it takes to protect my family. I actually am scared of guns because accidents do happen, but i feel they are a nessecity of the present times. That's discrimination against felons. I guess this aint' The Land of The Free as much as we want to believe. What happens if someone is trying to attack the felon's family? Can't he protect his innocent children? Cepha, i feel like you are just arguing to argue. There is right and wrong and we both know the difference. A person who say...has a felony from armed robbery should OWN a gun? NO!!!! You know that not all people should have access to guns. Only the people who use them properly and responsibily.

Steven, I believe in the right to bear arms, but I also think it is a priveldge and can, and sometimes should, be taken away.

Marcie, someone convicted of armed robbery or armed assult etc should definilty not be allowed to own a gun. At least not for a very long time.

Also gun neglect (for a lack of a better term), people who own guns and their children get ahold of them and either get injured or killed because of neglegance. Yeah....definilty shouldn't be allowed to own one and should go to jail.

AGREED!!! There is no excuse for a child to get their hands on a gun....that is just parental irrisponsibility!

You know that not all people should have access to guns. Only the people who use them properly and responsibily. Does the 2nd Amendment "not" apply to citizens who have felony records? How many people rob banks or commit felonies with "legal" guns? None really. Most use illegally attained guns. Anyway, the 2nd Amendment doesn't distinguish between felon or non-felon. The only people who want to decide who can and who cannot have guns are Right & Left Wing Extremists. So, those people who try to defend the 2nd Amend cannot say that felons cannot have guns. It's hypocritical, right?
