John 21 wraps this debate up period.

Jesus, The Good Shepherd transfers the care and guidance of His Flock to Peter when He tells Peter (and only Peter) to tend and feed His sheep (disciples) and His lambs (apostles).

Peter is not only the leader of the disciples, but also of the apostles.

So Peter is mentioned 155 times in the Bible to prove that he was the first pope so can I point out that Mary is only mentioned 10 times in the Bible. Can I use that statistic to prove that she isn't of that much importance? You guys are like the wind. You blow whatever way you want to, to support the dogma you want to promote.

A) The measure of how many times Peter is mentioned is for those who've tried to call Paul the leader of The Church by saying that Paul had more mentions in The Bible.

B) You could...if that was the topic. This thread is about Peter, not Mary. There's a whole board devoted to her. See you over there. ;D

By all means...but that'll run you into trouble. God was never mentioned by name in The Bible. So what does that say about your method of judging importance by mentions? (Of course, there are other times when Mary is mentioned "not" by name, so you'll have to up your number significantly from 10).

Amazing. Protestants are knowledgable on what Mary "isn't", instead of knowledgable on what Mary "is". Reverse spiritual growth.
