That is adorable!
My daughters when they were little had this great attraction to Mary. I liken it to them seeing the statue as a "doll", but as they grew, without my teaching them, they developed this natural love for her.
Same deal with how they saw Jesus.
I didnt' really have to teach them to love Him. I didn't have to indoctrinate them and tell them how He suffered and died for them and beat them with Christian fear tactics...they came to love Jesus naturally just because of the gentleness of His teachings.
Children recognize the truth far easier than we because the younger they are, the purer their minds and hearts.
I would argue that if a child wasn't misindoctrinated into hating Mary or into working to disprove anything good and holy about her, they would love her naturally.
Why? Because it's in a child's nature to not judge, to not discriminate, to not fear. And that's why we are told to come to Christ as children, with open hearts free of prejudices so that His teachings could take root in us.
Amen.

LOL! I have never heard of it either until last year my maw maw asked my sister if she planted a statue in her front yard, i was like WHAT? She said it helps sell the house. I was like whatever you say, i guess it does not hurt anyone...needless to say the house is still up for sell!

Isn't that cute? It looks like she's giving Mary some explaination or some gripe and she's so into it that she's rising to her tippy toes! I could imagine the little girl saying; "What was I supposed to do? They left the cupcake right in front of my in arm's reach! I was hungry, can ya' blame me??"

LOL! I really have no idea, but it's supposed to be a statue of Saint Joseph buried upside down in the front yard. It's some supersticion (if I spelled that correctly). I've no idea! LOL!

yeah, it is supertision and in my personal opinion an insult and abuse to St. Joseph, as the image itself is just an object, but it is what it represents that we honor... If I honor St. Joseph through a statue of his, I don't think he would like it if I buried him!
Also remember there is this cult/sect/something called "santeria", which take Catholic stuff and pervert it (not like satanism, but just not true Catholic teaching and devotion). Perhaps that's where this comes from?
