Is praying to Jesus Christ, The Son, "biblical"?

Hi Cepha-----------
Joh 16:23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
Mat 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
Luk 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
We speak to Father in the name of Jesus as directed in scripture,I know of no verse (in the KJV or CLV any way) directing us to pray to Christ directly

That, I understand.
Praying "in" Jesus' name.
But, are there any references that state that Jesus is prayed to directly?
I'm not in anyway denying it, but is this a biblical practice?
Understand?

Hi J---------
1 Cor 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

If you agree with the Doctrine of the Trinity... what does it matter? If you re-read the original question, it's about prayer to one person of The Trinity; Jesus The Son. My question is very clear: Does The Bible ever mention praying to Jesus The Son as Christians do today (myself included)?

Hi J--------- 1 Cor 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. much love---------knuckle That almost works against praying to Jesus if the head of Jesus is God. (Which by the way, thank you! That'll be a great quote to use when I debate against some who believe that Jesus is not subject to God!) Jesus said that when we pray to The Father, in The Lord's Prayer; He never said "when you pray to Me". Again, I don't disagree with praying to Jesus The Son. I do it, but the question remains...is it biblical? Is it outlined or practiced "in" The Bible?

Steven,
Please remember: The Son, father, and Spirit are One. Praying to Jesus is praying to the whole Trinity!
Jesus was giving yet another parable.
He did not mean, "Don't pray to me..."
But, because his disciples were only depending on Him, he gave them the Father whom he came to reveal. But he did not say DON'T prayt o me.
This is a very common Protestant teaching. Heresy.
I pray to Jesus everyday; all day. But prior to it, I say, "In the name of the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit" - I address the entire Trinity.
But even if you don't, it doesn't matter.
Jesus said, "I am the I Am." {Jehovah!]
The One is not jealous of the Other. Is God divided? No.
Clear enough?
God bless you.
Regards, Danica-Christine.

Steven, to edit my post, here is Biblical proof:
I. [Jesus speaking] Jesus is speaking to his disciples, "If you abide in Me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you." -John 15:7.
II. [Jesus speaking] "Therefore, I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believed that you have received them, and they shall be granted you." -Mark 11:24.
III. [Jesus speaking] "Ask and it shall be given unto you, knock and it shall be opened unto you, seek and you will find." -Mathew 7:7.
IV. [Jesus speaking] "Yes, ask anything in my name, and I shall do it." -John 14:14.
V. [John speaking] "This is the confidence we have before Him, that, if we ask anything acording to His will, He hears us." -I John 5:14.
VI. "He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him." - Hebrews 11:6.
VII. More verses: Romans 8:32; Luke 11:10; Chronicle 7:14; Mathew 18:19; Psalm 91:15.
There are more, but those are the ones I could find.
Jesus is clearly asking us to ask HIM. But, we can just as much as the Father - or the Holy Spirit! But I feel more confident, for my own reasons, asking Jesus.
God bless you, Steven.
