Hey all, Many monickers i recognise, some i don't. How odd it feels to be viewing the same arguments, the same names, just on a different forum! Wasn't sure where i should start this thread. I landed here because i figured Tom Wright isn't Catholic so a discussion of him and his works should probably take place in the forum dedicate to those outside Catholicism. So are people familiar with Wright and his books? Are there any in particular that you loved/hated?

He is a big force in the whole New Perspective on Paul movement. He is the Bishop of Durham and has for something like half of his adult years studied and written about the book of Romans. He has written such books as: What St Paul Really Said - (A response to A. N. Wilson who claimed that it was Paul and not Jesus who was the father of Christianity.) The New Testament and the People of God Jesus and the Victory of God The Resurrection and the Son of God Simply Christian - (a play on C. S. Lewis' Mere Christianity. An apologetics for the Christian faith) Judas and the Gospel of Jesus - (a response to the gnostic gospels) And has also undertaken a series of commentaries called the "for everyone" series. A series of devotional commentaries written by a respected and well read theologian. He has an amazing ability to bridge the gap between scholarly research and his audience, who probably have not had much experience in the heady, heavy, and sometimes futile world of scholars. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._T._Wright
