Would like to know just how people feel about this.
I am Catholic and my husband is Southern Baptist. We seem to make it work, yet we have had a few arguments on our beliefs. But to me love can conqur anything and God involved in your marraige will help so much!

I never understood the denominations being at odds with one another, in intimate, casual or other relationships. To me, we all believe that Yeshua is the Messiah, the Son of God, etc. Why does anyone care if others don't believe just like them? It's such a waste of precious time, time that could be spent on praise and worship. But then, that's the devil's plan isn't it, to distract us from praise and worship. But, I digress. To answer your question--if I didn't already LOL--I would hope I wouldn't marry outside my faith but denominations means nothing to me--in most cases.

No, but I'm already married. When we got married we were the same-protestant garden variety Christians. Now he is Orthodox and I'm Catholic. Before I became Catholic, I had a dream that we were in this big beautiful church and everyone was so nice and the service was great. Then we started saying the nicean creed, and everyone started saying it wrong! I looked at my husband and was like "we need to get out of here". There were 2 exits in the church. He left through 1 and I went through the other. Within like 6 months of that dream, he became Orthodox and I became Catholic.

No. I'm Catholic, and I'll only marry a fervent Catholic. But, for the last year, the Lord has pressed it on my heart to enter into a life consecrated to Him as my only Spouse. I'm not sure as of yet, but we'll see what he truly wishes.

I'm not sure as of yet, but we'll see what he truly wishes. Same here. I will only marry a Catholic. A Rosary Prayin', Mary Loving, Eucharist Adoring, Mass Attending, Diehard Hardcore Devout Practicing Catholic Woman! A woman that will love me precisely because I'm such a devout Catholic (even if I'm not a perfect human being). The fact that I love to worship Jesus reverantly, that I love to go to Church, that I love to be in front of The Blessed Sacrament, that I have such a love for Jesus' mother, that I love The Saints, that I believe in The Real Presence of Jesus and that God is my guide will be what she loves about me. (And if blessed, she'll give me a ton of kids...at least one son and as many little girls as she wants, as long as I get my boy!) I believe that whoever God puts together of different faiths is bound together. He knows better than us. But if I had my choice, I would want a Catholic woman. The thing I love the most besides my family, is my faith. To be able to worship with my wife & children would be the ultimate completion of my dream.

That person must, indeed, be someone that will bring you closer to Jesus and Mary. That is a true gift. When you're too tired to get up for Mass on Sunday, she will drag you out of bed if need be! She'll never let your focus diverse away from the Church of Jesus and Mary. A woman like Mary. I want a husband that's like Jesus. Well, O.K., I want Jesus! ;D Is that so bad? It's so incredible to know that I have a Lover. He's more beautiful than all the stars of the heavens and galaxies. He's more powerful than the sun; more romantic than Shakespear. His name is Jesus of Nazareth. King of Heaven...both my Spouse and Deity! xx

*Dead @ '...that was a man's man!'* ;D
Yes. He was a Holy man. No doubt about that one.
St. Joseph, pray for us, so we can be made worthy of the promises of Christ!

I would only marry someone from my faith. I think that it really helps a marriage to have both partners agreeing on aspects of religion.
In my faith, to marry in a temple one has to be an active member. We usually marry in the faith, but not always, but then the marriage would take place in the church and not the temple.

I married a Southern Baptist and she later converted to Catholicism. I made it clear from the get go that we get first married in the church and then have our children be Catholic. It was a take it or leave me sort of deal. It worked out well for us.
