A born again Christian male pedophile sexually abuses a child.
Is he still "saved"?

Hi Cepha---------------
Is this thread a do over? cause I think we have done this one before.
A person who is truly saved isn't gonna go out raping, killing, stealing etc etc they are changed Bro.
Now you have a lot of folk out there playing at it they say a little sinners prayer and get dunked in the Baptistery but do not repent---the word repent means to turn away and let Christ rule their lives and that's what salvation is we use words like faith and believe but it entails trusting Christ as ones personal Lord and savior---we put Him in charge the faith that saves Bro.---it aint ours,it is His that if we will just get out of the way He will lead us to all righteousness--the Faith is His,the Grace is His and the works are His
Many will cry Lord Lord--- because they said that little prayer and got wet but they never let Him take charge-- and how will He answer?Depart from me you workers of iniquity cause I never knew you!!
Sometimes I wonder if we need a catholic/protestant dictionary cause we seem to speak a different language sometimes......
much love------------knuckle

And as far as definitions go, that's what The Bible is for...it is the Christian dictionary. I've never known a born again Christian that wasn't still sinning. Just to be sure, does your definition mean that they never sin again? Or that they don't commit serious sins?

Someone saved, could do these things! Im so tired of hearing that excuse. And yes he will go to hell! See, that sounds Biblical to me because when Jesus sent Christian Believers to Hell, they had to be saved in order for them to be Believers.

Knuckle, so do you believe in the Catholic concept of Mortal sin? If not, then what system do you use to determine which sins are the "really bad" ones that saved people don't do? What about gossip? It's a sin. Or gluttony? Factions? Dissentions? Selfish Ambition?
Or are saved people perfect?
I'm not picking on you knuckle, but I'm curious to how you view sin.
Cradle Catholic, but what if the "pervert" repents? Would he still go to hell? teresa

I'm trying to find out "how" evil does one have to be really get banned from heaven as opposed to how much sin is allowable.

No brother I am not talking about sin I am talking about the change true salvation makes in someone---it is like being hit by lightning the holy ghost falls on you and you can never go back to what you were
so the idea of somebody saved raping some bodies baby does not compute in a protestant brain the idea of willfully setting out to sin does not compute----that said knuckle is a universalist so according to knuckle absolutely no sin is allowed and heaven is closed until man is perfected

a saved person who does something like this is NOT going to heaven. AGAIN, Many born again Christians do not believe in once saved always saved. I know Pentecostals don't.

For now heaven is closed Bro. We have the resurrection and the millennium first. What about The Saints that were raised in Matthew 27? I know you answered this, but not in regards to heaven. If their not in heaven, where are they? Limbo? When they are judged, will the apple stealing born again Christian be allowed into heaven, but not the pedophile born again Christian?

Knuckle, so you believe in purgatory for everyone?
I really HOPE that everyone goes to heaven, but unfortunately hell is a reality for at the very least Satan and the fallen angels.
The Church never definitively says if anyone is in hell, it only says those who we are sure are in heaven,
But for all the hundreds of warnings in the Bible about hell, I don't think it's wise to tell people not to worry about it.
On a personal note, I believe I was "in hell" for 1 night, and I can assure you, no one should take a chance on "universalism" .
Hebrews 2 1We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. 2For if the message spoken by angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, 3how shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. 4God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.

Cradle Catholic, That's one of the reasons we will worship Jesus forever because He spared us from Hell! It was not without reason that He died on the cross, but that is the reason we have hope! Don't be so silly!
You know how people say "if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is" ? I honestly think that that phrase came from hell. God loves us, and as Scripture says, (Luke 12) 32"Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.
and (James 1) 17Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
Only those who hate Jesus should be afraid. Trembling.
