A few days ago, I received in the mail a catalog by "Destiny Images" On the cover it says "Speaking to the purposes of God for this generation and for the generations to come." Then, on the inside it has various Christian books and CD's etc. for sale. Most of them look perfectly normal but then I came across at least 2 books that completely shocked me. One is by Scot Anderson and is called Millionaire Habits in 21 Days. Below that it explains that the book is to teach you how to change your habits so you can become a millionaire. The other book, also by Scot Anderson, is called Think Like a Billionaire--become a Billionaire Then there are other books like Breaking the Wealth Code by John Hrimnak. Of course, most of the books are very Christian but then you see a few that seem to go completely against the message of the cross. A while back, I remember them advertising a book call A Vow of Prosperity. Oh dear...
I hope I'm not sounding fanatical, but seriously how can a company that is claiming to be "Speaking to the purposes of God for this generation and for the generations to come" really think that God approves of such blatant greed and love of money?
And Catholics are constantly accused of idolatry? If I'm not mistaken, the Bible says that greed is idolatry.
I wonder how many "Christian" book stores have these books on their shelves? I wonder if the new book store near where I live called "The Spirit of the Reformation Book Store" has these books for sale?
