Ok, not sure if we have any on this site, but my friend is non denominational and we had a talk about religion the other night. Basically, she asked me if i thought the Bible was "real". I told her well, yeah. All Christians believe this. She started telling me that you can be christian and believe in the big band theory. I told her, that you can either believe one or the other, not both. I cant believe her church is saying things like this. It contradicts what the Bible clearly says. Any comments...

My buddy had a similar debate with a non -denom. He told him..."Yeah, the big bang theory is real. God willed it and it happened!" LOL! But seriously, the best way to trap a big banger is by asking them who put the gasses there that blew up in the first place. They'll respond "nobody, they were always there" and that's when you get them. How could their gases always be there, but God not when their basis for "not" believing in God is that it's impossible to always "had been", that everything has a beginning and an end. That's how I nail them. Besides, tell your friend that "Non-Denominationalism" IS a denomination! Literally! Bring them here! I'm in the mood for a snack! LMCBO!

I consider my self non-denominational in that my doctrine doesn't follow any particular denomination but leans toward a sola-scriptura belief
nice response to the big bang by the way
much love-----------------knuckle

What's up! Let's try to get this forum "back" to religious study! Didn't we have a great Revelation Bible Study? I'm almost to the point that I'll have web service at my new place. I'll email you when I can hit the site everyday... Now, back "on" topic; You're like the one Jesus spoke of in this passage: Luke 9:49And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us.
50And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us. Which is precisely why we shouldn't discriminate against other Christians as Christians ourselves. Thanks for the compliment...they usually don't last long in a conversation with me (especially the atheists). LOL! Pax
