Have you never known anyone in your church or another Christian church that went to church weekly and paid their tithes and who participated in many church events, but who lived sinful lives (gamblers, drinkers, thieves, adulterers, etc...)?
I don't understand the 21 questions. I havent' known anyone that did those kinds of sins, that I was aware of....but I went to church with people at my old church who were very involved and weren't Saved.
Well Em, the 21 Questions are to counter the 21 Statements you make about Catholics.
It's the same thing that Jesus did to The Pharisees who were passing judgement.
It's a way to get people to reflect upon their own religion before they comment on other's.
For example, when someone would talk about the 270 Priests involved in the sexual scandals in the U.S. over 30 years, I'd ask them about the 3,600 Protestant Clergy who are convicted every year.
They say they never heard of it and I remind them that this is a Protestant country so it's in their best interest to keep such information oppressed.
When they accused this of being a Catholic lie invented to slander Protestantism, I pointed them out to the websites I got the information from (they were Protestant websites).
Then, they say we shouldn't be pointing out other's mistakes.
Then I ask them why they brought up the Priest sexual scandal then?
Then they dissappear.
So, I do a tit-for-tat thing where (like Jesus did) I make a person reflect upon their own religion. It's very effective for reasonable people.
God bless you Em...you've come so far personally since we first met. You've grown spiritually sooooo much. Your church must be doing something right. Send your Pastor my regards and blessings.
