Here's an Email I got today from Catholic.com. They used an image of the infant Jesus and The Blessed Mother in their advertising a commercial venture.

It reminds me of this...
Matthew 21:12-13 And Jesus entered into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of he money-changers, and the seats of them that sold the doves; and he saith unto them, It is written, My house shall be called a house of prayer: but ye make it a den of robbers.

it would help if you would share why you post things.... What? Like the video? Isn't it obvious? It's the "baby jesus" reference in the clip (notice I didn't capitolize the "j" out of respect).

If it was obvious I wouldn't have asked.
You posted a pic of the toddler Jesus. Then you posted a video of a movie where people are praying to "the baby Jesus".
Don't make the connection.

It's to show how the image/name of jesus is mocked. I'm totally against the image of Christ being used in commercial uses. For example, like on the Catholic site I got that from.

Cepha, sorry but I don't get it either.
It seems like it's a Catholic whatever it is. If they were selling condoms or something, it would be scandalous, but I don't see what the problem is.
Are you totally against selling anything that has a picture of Jesus on it? People sell the Bible, Rosaries, Icons, religious paintings. I don't know what the problem is.
By the way, an infant usually just means that it is a child not yet old enough to walk (needing to be held) which could be even a one year old. Boys are bigger than girls at that age too. (and Mary was probably tiny anyways) Also, artist often make a more "important" figure in a painting slightly larger to emphasize their prominence.

No, no, no...if their selling rosaries, show pictures of rosaries. If their selling portraits, show pictures of paintings, but that image is used as a marketing picture in general...like what the Mexicans do with The Virgin of Guadalupe. They have The Blessed Mother's image on their store fronts, on their cars (as part of murals with naked women on the same car), as tatoos, etc... They use her as an object of marketing which is what this site did. And I'm against the use of The Saints in marketing.

Who? Catholic.com? That's the thing, they don't say. As you see the ad is as it appeared in my email. Jesus would not be happy about the image of His Blessed Mother being used in this manner (for commercial purposes). I'm against it.
