www.themosqueinmorgantown.com/This is a film that will air nationwide on PBS June 15 I think. It is about an Islamic "feminist" movement that began in my hometown. Looks very interesting.

I am all for Biblical submission of women to their husbands...but most of what is done in Islam is not Biblical (well obviously), and is not even Quoranian.....
Good for her.

Not for nothing, but Muslims are far more "conservative" than American Christians are.
I agree with Em too...today, what you see on portrayed as what is "Islam" is usually the most radical elements of it. Just lilke in Christianity, they too have their own "Fundamentalists" who are extremists.
Nutjobs.

I actually agree more with alfie on this one.
To be a true Muslim is to strive in the cause of Allah(Jihad). This includes forced submission of non-believers as well as murdering those who leave Islam and those who refuse to convert or pay the tax.
To be a true Muslim according to the Koran is to be an extremist. It is only the liberals, those who don't follow the traditions of Islam who are "peaceful".
If you take the Koran seriously and literally and follow it, you will definitely be a "man of war". If you take the Bible literally and follow it, you will be a complete pacifist. "Fundamentalist" Christians should be pacifists.

Jihadists believe in war too...it doesn't make them right. The Catholic Church has the "Just War" doctrine which outlines the requirements for a just war. For example, for us to go after Al Quaeda in Afghanistan is considered a just war. But for us to invade a country that never did anything to us like Iraq is considered to be an unjust war.

I know, and I agree with you Cepha. I agree with the Church, there is a time for war.
BUT, my point is that if you compare the teachings of Mohammad and the teachings of Jesus, it is blantantly obvious which religion is truly a religion of peace.

IMO there is a difference between a "man who fights in wars" and a "man of war".

A lot of people don't know Muslims (at least Mohammad and all Arab Muslims) are descendents of Ishmael. They even claim that Abraham was going to sacrifice Ishmael--not Isaac!
