So, it seems that the Domestic Terrorist Attacks that The Department of Homeland Security put out a warning about came true.

The whole reason why non-americans are coming to AMERICA is because they are obviously not happy with where they are and want something better for theirselves and family. Its not some dang conspiracy to overtake the U.S. from the White people. LOL

Steven, anymore, education seems to mean squat. Why do you say that Emily? Even if it doesn't improve your career or financial security, it improves your understanding of the world around you. My Dad has a PhD, but only has a part time job that doesn't pay much (except for this summer--he has a good job with FEMA). I know he doesn't regret any of his education though. But there are definitely ways of learning without going to school.

A better understanding of the world around me doesn't help pay the bills, lol. I have a speech impediment that will probably always keep me from either getting a good job or moving up in a job I already have. I'm not trying to sound "oh poor me" here, it's just a fact. Very few stutterers make it into the professional world, and they have to work 10x as hard to get there. Kind of like an African American did back in the day. There's almost no way I can get disability support for my speech...so I'm just kind of stuck. Stuck without a job/means to finances and $29,000 debt in school loans. Yeah, I'm a little bitter, lol.

If you have a degree you can get a job! Prolly a lil harder right now due to the economy, but otherwise with a degree you can work any job just about.

I graduated with a guy that had the worst studdering problem ive seen. He was very intelegent, i think he graduated top ten in class of 500 people. He is working, not sure where but i heard he had a decent job...we all thought he would be a rocket scientist haha, but he is not. So i kinda understand, but you cant give up! Get out there and get you a job girl.
I know when i graduate im gunna have to get out there and work hard on finding one, i do get frustrated with interviews and get down on myself when not hired. But when i have my degree, i will have much more confidence!

I'm a bit confused Emily. You said you received a degree in speech...correct? What then are you qualified to do? What kind of a job do you want?

Alfie, With an Bachelors Degree in speech therapy I am qualified to do close to nothing. I can be a substitute teacher, a teachers aid, or any other job that requires a bachelors in anything. So basically nothing. I'm not sure what I want to do. Right now I want to be a mother...and after my kids are in school, I really have no idea....I'm not thinking that far down the line. Possibly a dog groomer, that would be awesome. Dogs usualy understand that "sssssssssssssssssssssss" means "sit". Or maybe just my dogs understand that...not sure. But I don't know beyond starting a family.

A college degree only proves that you can stick to something and finish the job. Employees will hire just based on that. You can get a job in other areas, you just have to look. Kids are expensive girl! It would be better if you got a job and saved up some money for when yall do have them.

There's also a lot of emotional baggage that goes along with stuttering.

Emily, I'm so sorry you have gone through all this! I know that God will provide for you. You have so many gifts, you are a really nice person, and you ARE very good at communicating. God has good plans for you OK? Don't worry about tomorrow. Jesus commanded it.
