Why are most American Christians against the Government using tax dollars to serve the poor?

I think it should be charity that serves the poor.
Im mostly against the lazy people that continjue to have babies and live off of foodstamps because they dont want to get a job. Or like around here, there are a lot of people selling drugs making big money, yet still living off of government. I think there should be a limit on how long you can be on welfare...something to stimulate these people to get there lives together.
And it furiates me when i see these type of people living in WAY nicer homes than me, HUD housing for instance, its insane!

The Bible teaches that you shouldn't be angry if someone is living better than you. Did you know that? Those of us that aren't on public assistance just have to work harder to get what we want that's all. We should be happy that we don't have to rely on government handouts to live, that we have that dignity. No matter how hard I fell down, I never got a government handout even though I was fully entitled to because I've created so many jobs with my business. However, I have no problem with part of my tax money being used to feed the poor and to clothes the naked and to help people (much better than publically funded abortions or unjust wars!).

I dont mind people that earn the right to live in nice brick homes, but i dont believe drug dealers should be, because their income is not taxable!!!!
