There are some Protestant sects that believe that if you bless the Jews, God will bless you. So they go out of their way to help Jews in order to seek favor with God. So are the rewards for these works to be considered indulgences?

I would say yes. They are doing a work or good deep to please God

So are the rewards for these works to be considered indulgences? Absolutely. There's been this big push by Evangelicals especially to bless Jews so that they can be blessed by God (trading a "work" for a blessing). This is the only reason that a once Anti-Semetic religion like Evangelicals would do this. It's an evolvement of their religious beliefs where they once felt disdain for Jews, they now see them as a path to blessings from God ("if" they bless the Jews). They are trying to tie themselves directly (by association) to Jesus Rejectors.

In the beginning of "protestantism" they were definitely anti-Jewish. Especially Lutherans. It didn't help that Martin Luther's last book was "On the Jews and their lies".
Suppose Protestants had started earlier with their pro-Israel view? Maybe the Germans wouldn't have voted for Hitler?
I'm totally for "blessing" the Jews, but also the Muslims, Buddhists, Atheists, Pagans etc. Aren't we supposed to bless everyone?

Heather, I believe serving God is all about heart attitude. If people are blessing the Jew just because they want to be bless...I'm not sure God blesses them, He may actually punish them for being so selfish.

What does the Bible say about it though?
Is it selfish to want God to bless you? I don't think it is

hmm...yes, I think so. As long as we have a servants heart, God will bless us. We should be content, not want more than what we have all the time.

Matthew 5:43-44Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

I agree with that, but we are also supposed to seek rewards in heaven!! 6But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11 19Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6

We should seek to serve Christ...not serve so we can get crowns.

What does the Bible say about it though? Is it selfish to want God to bless you? I don't think it is If one is blessing JUST to receive a blessing? Then yes. If Jesus were here, I believe that He would scold The Jews (the murderous extremists) in Israel and help the Palestinians (the good ones).

When we serve Christ, that will happen automatically. We shouldn't serve Christ merely to get more rewards in heaven, but out of gladness in our hearts.
