3We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. 4The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: 6Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did. 91 (John 2)
We are supposed to imitate Jesus. We are supposed to "walk as Jesus did". How can we say we are imitating Jesus if we don't honor Mary?
1Then some Pharisees and scribes came from Jerusalem to Jesus and said, 2“Why do your disciples disregard the tradition of the elders? They don't wash their hands when they eat.”
3But he answered them, “Why do you also disregard the commandment of God because of your tradition? 4Because God said, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’[c] and ‘Whoever curses father or mother must certainly be put to death.’[d] 5But you say ‘Whoever tells his father or his mother, “Whatever support you might have received from me has been given to God,”[e] 6does not have to honor his father.’[f] Because of your tradition, then, you have disregarded[g] the authority of God's word.[h] 7You hypocrites!
