Why do some Christians focus on Jesus and ignore God?
Jesus is supposed to be the path "to" God.
Not a replacement "for" God.
It would be nice to see them using God's name more than Jesus' name (and not the other way around).

Jesus is God, there is no shame in using His Name, after all, we no longer have to use YHWH because God has revealed Himself to us through His Son Jesus.

But why so much focus on The Son when The Son was preaching that our focus should be on The Father?

But why so much focus on The Son when The Son was preaching that our focus should be on The Father? Probably because Jesus is the one that died for our sins and if he hadn't died for us there would be no way for us to reach God.

But Jesus wouldn't have died for us if God didn't send Him in the first place to die for us, so to Whom do we really owe our debt to? To The Vessel (Jesus) or to He who send Him? Jesus was on orders from God. Since when did the messenger get the credit for the message sent instead of he who sent it?

? I'm confused by this Cepha. But actually, I was thinking about this the other day. I don't see any problem focusing on Jesus, because He said, "Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father" Now, I'm not a Montanist(sp?) but remember that God is ONE!!!! Therefore, by "focusing" on Jesus it doesn't mean you are "ingnoring" the Father. He SHOWS us the Father.

Jesus came to bring us "to" The Father, not to Himself. We belong to Him only because The Father gave us to Him (Jesus). I follow Christ. He puts The Father first, so do I without separating them or placing them in any heirchal separation either.

You Catholics are Trinitarian in the formal sense, correct? much love---------------knuckle You're asking the wrong Cat if you're asking me. I'm not aware of any "types" of Trinitarian beliefs. As far as I'm concerned, there is just one belief in order to be a Trinitarian Christian...that God The Father, Jesus The Son and The Holy Spirit are all One Person (like the 3 points to a triangle).

If you truly believe that The Father, The Son, and Holy Spirit are one, then why do you seem to be separating Jesus from the Father? One more thing John tells us in 1st John anyone who has the Son has the Father also. I do not see focusing on Jesus as ignoring the Father, I believe Jesus is one with the Father.

Well, I believe in 3 persons in 1 God. Which is the traditional Christian understanding of what the Trinity is (or can be understood to be). I understand about not seeing how focusing on Jesus is not ignoring the Father, but "not" focusing on The Father is ignoring The Father. I've spoken to some Christians who never mention God The Father. Honestly, that wierds me out because it was The Father Who bought them to Jesus in the first place.
