Sometimes, you just have to go to Church to remember why you are what you are. In my case, being a Catholic Christian. It's amazing how beautiful my Church is. Not just the architecture, but "it" in general. I went to the same Church where I received my 1st Communion training 30 years ago. Thirty Years Ago. And it was there 70 years before that. That's right...100 years. How many other churches can claim that they've been around that long? How many denominations can lay claim to that, that they are over a century of a year old? I am just boggled by that. It gives me such a sense of security. I love my Church (The Catholic Church). Here's the Church I was at today (one of the several Catholic Churches that I attend whenever I'm in the area which is another great thing...I can go to anywhere in this country and be "in my Church" even if I've never stepped foot in that city before and I'll know exactly what the the service will be because it will be the same all over the world).

Cepha, that is so true. Both of our Churches have beautiful churches.
Humm....my parish been around since 1867....so there....in YOUR FACE!!!!!! LOL!
And your comment: ".I can go to anywhere in this country and be "in my Church" even if I've never stepped foot in that city before and I'll know exactly what the the service will be because it will be the same all over the world)" is so true.
I have attended different Orthodox parishes (Greek, Russian, Ukraine, Romaine etc) and it all the same. I can "feel" right at home anywhere! It's the same. It doesn't matter which jurisdiction I attend. Sure, there might different liturgical cultures/traditions that will vary from one parish to another (and there might some parishes where English is the not primary language), but the essence of the Faith is the same. The same Divine Liturgy! Amen!

My daughters would love to go to the one that looks like a castle. Esp. the youngest because she wants a "princess castle" cake for her birthday LOL! I think they would all like the Orthodox one, because it's so colorful. It looks like something from a fairytale. (personally, I would be happy to go to any of them, esp. if they have a cry room or children's liturgy)
peace

The Cathedral of Intercession of Theotokos on the Moat, popularly known as the Cathedral of Basil the Blessed Ramon, had to downsize your pic. Sorry. It was completely distorting the board, but you're welcome to repost it in a better size! Thanks for sharing though.

No problem! Actually, I was trying to re-size the picture, but nothing I did worked. So thank-you! I knew Cepha will come to the rescue! LOL!

OK, generally off-topic, but I'm going to re-launch the site. I'm going to actively find anti-catholics and bring them in. And of course, Catholics.
There will be a new format (completely updated) and this current forum will be pinned there for us to refer to because there is just tons of great information that we've accumulated here.
So, I'd say that in about a month, it will be up and running.
Bear with me.
We'll send everybody and email and get it started.
Love for you all.
Ceph.

Yes, if you bring Anti-Catholics to the forum it shall no doubt attract Catholics who are eager to defend the church and thus resuscitate your forum.

Hi Dox, Yeah, but they begin to read and get scared. This site is pretty laden with some great stuff. The stuff here would never have survived on an anti-Catholic site.

A church building is not needed for us to meet or worship God, nor is it needed for the center of the life of the church.
Acts 17:24-25 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; 25 Neither is worshiped with men's hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;
Acts 7:48-51 Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet, 49 Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest? 50 Hath not my hand made all these things? 51 Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.
