I think that's weird too In case you don't know this, 1/2 my family is Pentecostal. We have 5 pastors that have their own churches (two that have 5,000 member congregations). I'm not against the jumping up and down and the praising. I love that actually. I think that God looks down at His children that do this with love in their hearts and He is pleased. It's just when people act like animals and groan like lions. That to me seems like possesion by the devil. I've never read of anybody but demonically possesed people to act like that in the Bible. Just out of curiosity are you a former Pentecostal? Eighty percent of Pentecostals are former Catholics according to ex-Protestant and now Catholic apologist Robert Sungenis. The majority of converts to the Jehovah Witness and Mormon faiths are ex-Catholics.

I'm a former everything else though...I stopped being Catholic then tried Jehova's Witness, Baptist, Pentecostal, Islam, Buddhism, Agnositicism, Non-Denominationalism, etc... Where did he write this? 80%? That figure can't possibly be right. Maybe 80% of Pentecostal "converts", but not Pentecostals in total (which makes a HUGE difference).

Catholic clergy wear jewelry also... Not body piercings. Rings that represent a title or relation (such as a wedding ring), that's fine. It's symbollic (not adornment). Jewewlry is not a sin, but wearing jewelry as adornment is not approved of. Gold has a purpose. It's used for symbollic reasons, not for personal adornment. Body piercings are pagan in nature. They are vain. Wearing a symbollic piece (cross, ring, etc...) is not wrong.

I see. So you are against earrings?

I see. So you are against earrings? Me? I'm against all jewewlry, but the Bible has instances of it, so I can't judge that. Although, I see that the complete abandonment of personal adornment should be the order of the Christian male or female and one should be stripped of all earthly items that don't glorify God. I dont' smoke, drink, do drugs, gamble, have tatoos or wear jewelry. I'm not saying I'm perfect or that I'm better than anybody else, but I just stripped myself of all that. I used to make obscene amounts of money and spent it adorning myself (fancy cars, clothes, jewelry, etc...). But when I reverted back to Christianity, I felt that I had to abandon all those things and now I try to live a humble pious life. I've turned from work that was lucrative, but unGodly. I could've been a millionaire several times over, but not that way. My Christianity overwhelmed my secular nature and I failed as a human being (as far as acquiring wealth, power, etc...), but believe I'm working towards being a better spiritual being.

Good for you, I don't do any of those things either. Although I'm not against tats or jewelry. I'm going to get my ears repierced after I have children, I'm not fond of ugly closed-up holes in my ears.

Leviticus 19:28 "You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you: I am the LORD."

I don't follow the OT laws

I don't follow the OT laws Matthew 5 17Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Why don't you if Jesus said that they are still in effect?

Good for you. I choose not to. Christ fulfilled them...plus I'm not Jewish.

Good for you. I choose not to. Christ fulfilled them...plus I'm not Jewish. Yes, but Christ also said that they would be in effect until His return. Since Jesus hasn't come back they are still in effect. Why don't you choose to obey God's Law?

Nothing...we are all free together. Some choose to follow the OT laws, and that's fine.

Luke 16:17 "But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one stroke of a letter of the Law to fail."

Nothing...we are all free together. Some choose to follow the OT laws, and that's fine. My question was why. You claimed your Gentilness. When were Gentile Believers excluded from The Law? There has to be a scripture for you to believe this.
