Hi guys. Thanks to you all for being on. Now we need to work together in order to have some sort of order here so I welcome you all to make any suggestions you might have including boards you might want started and I'll do my best to accomodate you. Again, thank you. And at the end of the day, no matter what, whether we are Christians, non-Christians, Atheists, whatever, let's all remember who our Daddy is...Abba. My wife like to blog and or chat but she doesn't go to forums because of all the debating and hate speech amongst christians and she finds the chat rooms boring speaking about pumpkin by rather than theology. I would suggest there be a forum set up for others like herself that can speak about theology without debateing, maybe a debate free forum? That's what the forum is supposed to be, and exchange of ideas. Then, the Debate Board is for debating.

How about a forum on anti-Catholicism in the media, press, websites, movies, etc. Not so much a debate zone (though debates will inevitably come up), but something to show how anti-Catholic the world is: Christian and non-Christian.
Like, have links to the billions of anti-Catholic (specifically anti "Roman" Catholicism) websites that are out there, or of South Park's episodes making fun of the Catholic Church, or atheists debating against Catholics in issues like abortion, contraception, homosexual "marriage", or chastity and pre-martial sex.
Or point facts such as typing "Hail Mary Bible" in google brings about 5 anti-Catholic websites, etc. Or if in YouTube you look for "Sexual Abuse Scandal" or something similar, whole bunch of bad taste jokes and criticism of the Catholic Church comes about.

I have one on anti-Catholic Forums.
But you're welcome to start a thread on your own on whatever you want.
Of course, our living in a Protestant country, we are the minority and are overwhelmingly outnumbered by them at a rate of at least 2 to 1 if not more.
For example: While The Catholic Church's sex scandal among the Priesthood has been the overwhelming focus on such occurances in America, the fact is that over the past 12 years, there have been only 15 incidents reported.
For Protestant churches? 3,500 ever year. But you won't hear about that on Protestant (i.e. "American" media). They have to conceal this. They are doing what The Catholic Church was criticized for (in other words, being hypocritical). Thank God for those Protestants who actually have spoken out of their true Christian hearts and have exposed their own churches.
My question? What makes a Protestant child less valuable than a Catholic child? Why do Anti-Catholics care more about condemning The Catholic Church than they do about protecting Protestant children? This shows that their work is "not" of The Holy Spirit.

Is there a Forum open on the child abuse scandal? If not, should we open it in the anti-Catholic section? Pax Christi

Start the thread, but it shouldn't be in anyway to attack The Protestant church in general. If anything, for public education? Fine. But I wouldn't want it to turn into a reason to bash non-Catholic Christians. However, the hypocrisy is evident and that definitely is something that could be spoken of because the victims here are not the reputations of either of the institutions involved, but the children in question.

Suggestion Ban people that call the Catholic Church "Satanic". I did already once. I unbanned him in the spirit of giving people a 2nd chance in the new year. Ok, then...I think it's time for a vote. I'll open it for 24 hours. Has Watchman violated our one rule of maintaining a level of common respect for other posters here? Yes? Or no? If its yes, then he will get banned. It it's no, then he will not get banned (again). If a person doesn't want to actually have an "exchange", but just wants to insult, I'd say those are grounds for banning. Of course, I vote yes.

Well, um...
How is calling the Catholic Church "Satanic" not offensive? Or calling people "stupid" ?
1 Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, 2 to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone.
3 At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. 4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. 8 This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.
9 But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless. 10 Warn divisive people once, and then warn them a second time. After that, have nothing to do with them. Titus 3

So far, it's two to zero against him. But I promised 24 hours. Anyway, I don't understand how a person can boast about being a Christian, yet outrightly contradict what Jesus taught while claiming to do it in the defense of Christianity.

I feel that he did disrespect the Church by calling it satanic, but i also think he brings alot to this board. I would just like to say to him...Dont condemn the Catholic Church, just make good points on why you do not agree with it. No big deal, i understand it can be frustrating at times while debating, but just watch your mouth. Vote not to ban.

Awww, thank for the vote not to ban. To be honest i think that many Catholics are true Christians, however I am a member of about 10 of these, I have been banned from about 5 , and the only person that really angers me in all of them is cepha, and what angers me the most, is his denial that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation. P.s. I thought Teresa was my friend, I guess not

Watchman!
I never said you were or were not my friend. But if you DO want to be my friend, just please don't call my Church "Satanic".
Honestly, I think that if you would stop automatically judging our Church, and learn what we TRULY believe (instead of insisting that you know what we believe) then you would really regret calling it "satanic".
Watchman, why do you come here? Is it because you want to "convert" us? Is it because you just want to prove us wrong? Is it to make friends? Are you just bored?
Whatever the reason is, you have to remember that this is a Catholic web site. Even though you aren't yet Catholic, you still need to respect the Catholic Church when you come here, and if not, why are you surprised if we are offended?
Just be respectful, even if you dissagree. Don't call people names--I don't know when that is ever appropriate anyway.
Then we can have real, "grown-up" conversations, and yes, perhaps even be friends.
