Knuckle, the bible is not a personal letter actually written by God. God did not sit down and write with a pen the bible. It was written by men inspired by the Holy Spirit. Jesus did not tell Peter "On this rock, write a bible". No, he gave him the keys to the Kingdom and told him to start his church. The bible wasn't compiled until much later. People went by word of mouth back then, to us Catholics, that is called "Sacred Tradition".

The word inspired what does that mean to you?
If God has the ability to inspire is it not a given that what is written is exactly what we are supposed to have?
I find it odd that you have no problem with the idea that God used men to write the bible but see it as impossible for the same God to use men to bring that same good news to the Muslims.

You either know nothing about history, or simply are ignorant of the church Jesus founded. Jesus NEVER sent a Quran to people because the Quran is sent from satan. It is a joke to me and therefore it has personally sucked you right in to believe it is true. I pity you.

hi R1----------
I am not talking about the Koran,I am talking about witnessing to Muslims (which you see as a waste of time)
Now in your mind you think the the catholic church brought us the bible like they did it all on their own-----God had his hand in it from the beginning you are giving credit to men for what is clearly a work of God
Is English your first language?you seem to have difficulty comprehending what posts are saying.

Jesus Christ did not sit down and write the bible, nor did it drop down from heaven either. Where do you think THE WRITTEN TEXT came from? Who wrote it? English is indeed my language, but history could not of been your major in school because you are ignorant of it.

I suggest you read your history on where the bible came from and who in fact wrote it and compiled it. Hint...at the Council of Carthage in 390 A.D by the Roman Pontiff of the Catholic church. You wouldn't even have a bible if it weren't for the Catholic church.

Hi R1------------
You still miss the point--- we are predestined to walk in the works set before us--Php 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
See that Bro?All is of God,You have read 2 Cor 12--In what do you glory?Don't let pride become a stumbling block
Mat 3:9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
---the council of Carthage met in 397 not 390 and if you would like to discuss Polycarp,Athanasius or Clement or maybe the Synod of Antioch or the councils of Hippo or Laodicea or perhaps Nicea or any other bit of church history you will find me familiar enough to oblige you.
Jas 3:13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him show out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
as always,much love------------knuckle

Well why then not the Council of Carthage? Because that is when the bible was compiled, and you can't face the truth.

R1-----------
What is there to say?that the catholic church finally put it's stamp of approval on a canon that was already decided upon in 363 at the Council of Laodicea? The same canon that with the exception of Hebrews, James, and 3 John had been used by the church for over one hundred and fifty years?

Children! ;D Come on now...why don't you two take this to the Debate Forum? I'll moderate it. Follow the rules, stick to the facts, and I'm sure you'll have your answer within one exchange. Now, back to free will... www.youtube.com/watch?v=acCMaulpCog&feature=related "You have heard it said you shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. For if you love only those who love you, what reward is there in that?"

Hi Watchman------------------
Fist let me welcome you to the forum, glad to have you with us.
And how are we set fee from sin?By being made servants to God.
Mat 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
But being called--Mat 23:10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ. and Jesus said John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me drag him... and also John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you
we were slaves unto sin(no free will) and now we are servants unto Christ (no free will there either) all by the power of God,not of ourselves
Eph 4:8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
Again,good to have you here,much love------------knuckle

Hi Watchman---------
So it would seem to us but scripture tells us that the natural carnal mind is enmity against God and no man can come to Jesus unless the Father draw(literally drag) him.

Hi R1--------------- Not sure I understand the question, why would I want answers other than the ones in scripture? much love---------knuckle Because what did the people do before the bible was even printed? Before it even got into the hands of the people? What about the Early church fathers? Can't deny them.

The Grand kids told their mom I was talking to Lamb Chop online the other day cause I asked them about the lyrics---Which they got wrong by the way
"a long long time ago" should be "not knowing what it was"
four year olds should know this stuff.........
