Mark 7:13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
Most American Christians, Catholic and Protestant alike have made the word of God of no effect to them believing in their man made traditions over what God Himself has said.

Before ye be an accuser of the brethren, maybe you should both put the verse in Mark in context, and expound on this?
I'm definitely all for constuctive criticism, but if the criticism is vague, how can it help people?

I agree with that 100%. Well, as far as Catholics go, we follow Priests and as Jesus said, Priests are separated from "man" (set apart). So, in following a Priest (as Jesus also was a Priest), we are not following man. The beautiful thing about Catholicism is that it's traditions can all be traced back to the Apostolic Church. Do you have any specific "traditions" that you feel are "man made" that Catholics practice? Or is this just a "generalized" proclamation on your part with no detail or reference?

It was a generalized statement that Watchman, uhum, excuse me, Ezekiel made. ;D

You and your pastor are prime examples. What "church" do you attend? Irrelevant, because any teaching of my church that does not line up with scripture I will not believe, regardless of what church it may be.

examples?
But you aren't giving an example of how something we do "nullifies" God's word.
Jesus gave really specific examples in Mark's gospel. He didn't just give general accusations.
If you really want to "help" people, you should be more specific.

They and many others in America today nullify God's word but the false beliefs and false teachings, and they refuse to conform their beliefs to scripture even when confronted by the truth. If you want an example of emily and her pastor in particular. They believe that once you have said some 30 second prayer and have been dunk in to water then you are eternally secure in your salvation. This teaching is not biblical and is sending many to hell unaware. People think they are saved when they are not, and will not realize this truth until they die and wake up in hell.

You have no idea what their relationship is with God. There is no special formula toward one getting saved. That's their way and God might accept that. But you cannot say that you know that God rejects them. My gosh, you're so like this guy (The Pharisee): Luke 18:9-14To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable:
"Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.
The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: 'God, I thank you that I am not like other men—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.' But the tax collector stood at a distance.
He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, 'God, have mercy on me, a sinner.'
I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."I hope for your sake that God knocks you down to your knees with your face on the floor with a healthy dose of humility. It just boggles me how you feel as if you have permission to judge who is and who isn't pleasing God.

" People think they are saved when they are not, and will not realize this truth until they die and wake up in hell." But he wouldn't be too happy with who that would apply to. I know who it applies to. Matthew 7 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mark 7:6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.People who confess Christ but do not serve Him that is who it applies to.

It just boggles me how you feel as if you have permission to judge who is and who isn't pleasing God. I do not judge anyone I just obey the word of the Lord. Ezekiel 33 7 So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me. 8 When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. 9 Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
