I think you have it backwards...republicans are for small businesses, you know like your mom and pop stores. The ones that make good money but not too much to call themselves multi millionairs. If their for small business, then how come they didn't give small business the same tax breaks they gave to big business? Explain that. Do you think it's fair that you had to pay $5. gas prices while The Big Oil Companies where getting Multi-Billion Dollar Tax Subsidies? I plan on investing some in solar energy as well, or wind energy. LOVE THE IDEA! But in texas and especially my part of tx, hard working middleclass families depend on the oil business. Do you not care about all of us?

Do you have a clue of how many food items have sugar in them? What about candy? What about things with high colesteral? Why are they not taxing these items? They are choosing sodas because EVERYONE drinks them and they can get the most money out of it. The government cannot fix obesity...it starts with good parenting. That is what i dislike about the government, they are not the solution to all our problems and dont need to be. I mean really.. I agree. Where does it stop? Cake mixes, candy, pizza, pastas, loaves of bread...? Almost anything can lead to obesity/being overweight. Even most canned veggies have a lot of salt in them, and canned fruits a lot of sugar. Good parenting and nutrition knowledge is the foundation. Beyond that....there's not much anyone can do to make people live a healthy lifestyle.

I wish we would do more with natural energy sources. There was a dam near where I live awhile back that was shut down because it interfered with the fish or something. Weird...and our bad sources of energy are better for them...?
Wind, water, and sun....that would be sooo awesome. My husband's friend has a windmill in his back yard for his electricity, and a fireplace thing to heat water pipes in his walls to heat the house in the winter.
It cost his A LOT to have it put in, but it saves them money in the long run.

Another thing that needs to be done immediately is to set up the same kind of recycling system that is in place in Michigan (I lived there for 6 winters). You pay a 10 cent deposit on every bottle, can etc. and then you bring it back to the store and get the money back. EVERYONE recycled in Michigan and homeless people even made a living by gathering the cans off the side of the road. We have that in NY. It gives the homeless and unemployed also the ability to pick trash up off the street and to turn it in. A woman put herself through college starting out like that. Less trash, cleaner enviroment, the less fortunate work, better all around! ;D

I'm a firm believer (as is The President of The United States and the overwhelming majority of Americans) that we need to become more efficient and to get away from Oil. Wind, water...all good choices. Plus solar.

Of course you don't see it. What you don't see is that President Obama is saving all those small business that sell products (aka sub-contractors) to the big corps. And, Fannie May and the Banks? That was Bush's "leftover" bill that he HAD TO sign! Get it right! If you have a problem with that, talk to Bush. He's down there eating Cheetos and watching football in a recliner, ain't he? LOL!

Im saying that the "fight obesity" "healthy" cause is bs, they are not doing it to solve obesity they are doing it to pay for national health care.

My hubby thinks this is ridiculous too. He says they called him a Socialist, and he's turning out to be one.
He knows much more about politics than I do.

so·cial·ism (sô'shə-lĭz'əm) n. Any of various theories or systems of social organization in which the means of producing and distributing goods is owned collectively or by a centralized government that often plans and controls the economy. The stage in Marxist-Leninist theory intermediate between capitalism and communism, in which collective ownership of the economy under the dictatorship of the proletariat has not yet been successfully achieved.

Well, why so many layoffs at small businesses? Because of The Bush Administration's Economic Policies. The Layoffs didn't "just" start on January 20th and the problems that are leading to today's layoffs didn't start then either. They started in the Recession of 2007 that leads into today. Remember, President Obama didn't start this recession and it's effects...he "inherited" it from Bush and The Republicans. But, the good news is that the layoffs are decreasing measurably! Isn't that great that The President's Economic Stimulus is working? Yeeeehhh! ;D Don't worry CC! We fixed The First Bush's (Bush Seniore) mess, we'll fix this one's too!

You just described the American Taxation System right there (Social Security, Medicaid, Faith Based Initiative, etc...). You do understand that, right? That those are all American Socialist policies (that by the way have always existed and the last one I listed was started by Bush).
