Awwww look at the cute dogs!!! So cute!! My Penny is getting spayed on Monday...I am so sad.... She will be fine! Don't worry. Dogs get netured/spayed all the time without any side effects. If you going to a reputable animal hospital, she should be fine. Does Penny have to stay overnight in the hospital? I got to my neuter this month or next month. He is already late. He was suppose to get neuter at 6 months. He has not "acted" up yet (Thank-God), but I want to get him neuter fast before puberty starts kicking in....... In IC.XC, Ramon

Yeah I know she'll be fine. It's just my older one had a hard time when she had it done...she wouldn't play or eat So I'm just worried. We got our older one spayed after she went through a heat cycle, but we are getting our younger one done before...actually I think she might be starting heat right now...she's very swollen!!She's only 5 months!! Eek! But, anyways, we are doing Penny earlier than Belle because Belle had an infection that would have made her very sick if we would have waited any longer to spay her. Scary.

Yeah I know she'll be fine. It's just my older one had a hard time when she had it done...she wouldn't play or eat So I'm just worried. Yea, that's happen. I have spoken to some dog owners, and they told me that the first few days after surgery are difficult, and although some dogs go back to normal right after the surgery, others take a couple of days to go back to normal. I know I am going to have a bad time after the surgery. They going to put a cone collar on him and Sammy HATES having things on him, especially his face/head! Poor dear might be in pain. Just have to give him extra love and care! Sammy have to stay overnight and they going to provide me with pain medications and antibiotics. Scary. Wow, 5 months? She's fast! That's one of the reasons I got a male instead of a female puppy. Menstrual cycles....no thanks! What kind of infection? One dog owner I know lost her dog because she caught cancer. It was due to that fact that she didn't get spayed.

Belle didn't eat normal for probably 5 months after her surgery. She's better now, but only because I add canned food to her dry food...if it was just dry she wouldn't eat it. She got really skinny. Poor baby.
Yeah 5 months...which is weird, Belle didn't heat until she was 1 yr old!! So IDK!! I'd rather deal with a menstral than marking, lol!! Esp since I'm a woman and am used to that kind of thing...I'm not used to cleaning pee off the wall. I have considered getting a male dog in the future though...but that's not for another 10 yrs or more hopefully.
I'm not sure what kind of infection it was. But they said it was caused by her heat cycle and if we waited much longer to do the spay she would've gotten sick and they would had to do an emergency spay....$$$$$$$$
The spays at the vet place I go to does an outpatient type surgery. I take her in at 8am and she's ready by early evening. Which is nice...she gets to sleep in her own bed...granted she even knows where she is...
