Asalum Alakum.
This thread has been created for our fellow "people of The Book" to join us in discussion in an enviroment free of discrimination and with the guidance of the Holy Prophet we share...Isa, peace be upon Him.
Yes, we have different beliefs in Jesus Christ and we can discuss that, but when we do, it will be under the banners of respect that He would approve of as would Mohammed (peace be upon him).
Welcome to our tent spiritual children of Ishmael.

Why not? St. Francis didn't go in the Crusades against the Muslims, he found a different way to defend the Truth.

I'm guessing that he serious.
Mohammed is the last prophet in Islam, and the first one since Jesus. To him the Koran was revealed. So the story goes.

Mohammed...the founder of Islam in the 6th century. Supposedly, if I have it understood right, he was confronted by God (I think through and angel) and was told to teach what God told him. His teachings would become the basis for one of the world's great religions...Islam.

Mohammad was a revolutionary who saw how great the Jews were in the OT,not believing in God but rather the power of a united religion that led the Jews to such greatness promptly went about inventing one using the point of the sword to produce religious zeal.
As hard as some find this to admit,it is the truth.

Hi Knuckle,
Was he a violent man?
What's the history on Mohammed's record of violence?
Did he personally actually ever murder someone in the name of God or did he (while alive) ever order he murder(s) of anyone in the name of God?
I'm asking because I've never heard of it.

Hi Cepha-----------------
In 624 Mohammad led Muslim forces against Meccan(Arab non-Muslims)trading caravans murdering them and stealing their goods After the fall and conversion of Mecca (under threat of death) he turned his attention to raiding Jewish and Bedouin caravans. He was a thug a thief and a murderer. If he decide to go to war and rob a specific group he would meditate and pray in public, then declare the Angel Gabriel had declared so and so an enemy of Allah-----funny thing all these enemies were usually under powered an rich---on the odd occasion when one of his raids failed he took the loss out on his own people declaring that they were not devout believers or that one of his generals had sinned.
After he had built an army of incredible power he started blackmailing other rulers to convert or suffer war he also taxed them with the tax of alms under threat of attack
After His death Abu Bakr his hand picked successor declared the Christians infidels for stating that Jesus was the Son of God and death and jihad ensued.
yes Mohammad was a violent man.

Thanks. I know that when they tried that stuff with us, we squared them away really quick. But then, for defending ourselves, we get criticized as savages. Hint...they were called "The Crusades". Where'd you get this information from?

Hi Cepha--------------
Wikipedia,Mohammad Prophet or Terrorist, the False Prophet,Encyclopedia Brittanica and other books.
There are a lot of good Muslim folk in the world who are sincerely looking to follow God----but Paul and Jesus both warned us about the rise of Islam it is the leopard, bear, lion beast of revelation and has fooled many good folks.

Could you list the exact web page?
I've found different interpretations of what you posted (the 7th century attacks). When I saw it in Wikipedia, the site said that there was a lot of editing vandalization (meaning that it was misworded purposely).
I've read other writings on the instance where it wasn't described as such a violent attack.
Thanks.
