1 Corinthians 1:22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
Yes, signs were shown to Gentiles, with an unsaved Jew in the room. Signs and wonders had their place....it isn't now.

Emily, Ok. I guess this thread ends here then. Honestly, I just don't really know how to talk about this if that is your persuasion. It's nothing personal, but I don't know how to talk about it anymore with you. I'm sure Cepha can take over for me, we believe the same things.

Emily, we are living in the "last days". Not only has God been pouring His Spirit out in the Church since the day of Pentecost, but such "signs and wonders" will continue until the "last days" are over. (Jesus returns)
Yes, there are counterfeit signs etc. and of course, we are not suppossed to focus on them, but focus on love.
I know that is a hard topic for Baptists, I'm not sure why. I don't want to make you uncomfortable here, but I just didn't want anyone reading this to think that Catholics don't believe in the supernatural gifts.

Where does it say signs and wonders will continue until the last days are over? Signs and wonders by the antichrist will begin during the tribulation, is that what you're thinking of?

No, the Bible says he would perform "counterfeit" signs and wonders to deceive.
Is there a time before Jesus returns when the "last days" will be over? Are we not living in the "last days" right now?

The Last Days end with the rapture of the church. Where's the verse that says signs and wonders will continue through the end times?

17" 'In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. 18Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. 19I will show wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. 20The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. 21And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'[c] Act 2

Heather, That's talking about during the tribulation. The moon becoming red and the sun darkening both happen when the 6th seal is opened, it marks the end of the tribulation and as Jesus returns to the earth. Rev 6:12-17.

What? Peter said that this prophecy was beginning to be fulfilled at pentecost. He wasn't saying it was going to happen later, he was saying it is happening NOW.

The sun isn't darkened now and the moon isn't like blood now. Those two things happen at the end of the tribulation.

Emily, don't worry about it. I know baptists believe the gifts ended. There is no point in arguing this,

Steven, that's kind of irrelevant. The verse Heather gave me is discussing the tribulation period, in Revelation because of what it says about the sun and moon.
Heather, I just believe what the Bible says.

I just believe what the Bible says. Except this? Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
