Lapsed: Baptized "in" The Catholic Church, but not adhering to The Faith, yet still has not officially renounced their faith.
A Catholic is de-catholicized (LOL) by either excommunication or by their renouncing their faith officially.
No one is held against their will.
And...the Church is patient in excommunicating one. They give plenty of warnings and try to work with an individual who is actively "not" living a Catholic based life. It's a live and let live policy (so long as they are not doing anything to damage souls).

Is there a point to your list Cepha? As far as I can tell only about three of these people have (alive) or had (now dead) a godly lifestyle and who I would consider to be a Christian.
