LOL!!
But I'm not going to just blindly believe anything my husband says. I'm not going to be orthodox just because he is, and I wouldn't be a JW, baptist, "non-denominational" or anything else if he told me to!
Submitting to your husband doesn't mean throwing your brain in the trash.

Submitting to your husband doesn't mean throwing your brain in the trash. Exactly. A woman is only supposed to submit to her husband when he is right. If a husband decide to reject Christ, would a Christian woman bound to scripture without personal interpretation have to then reject Christ too?

That's why I said it is a man's job to lead the household Biblically. I will never sin because my husband tells me to.

How do you know you are smart enought and stable enough to do so? That is not against you personally, but I mean how do any of us know if we are smart enough and stable enough to do so. Nobody knows everything, and no one is 100% emotionally stable all of the time. The Bible says that it contains things that are difficult to understand that ignorant and unstable people distort to their own destruction. I know I'm not always capable of coming up the the correct interpretation of scripture. Many, many times I have been totally convinced that one thing was true, only to change my mind later. And what if those were important issues? There has to be an infallible interpreter of scripture--The Holy Spirit through the Church.

Heather, I don't know that I am. In the past I've been decieved into believing false doctrines. But now that I know that the BIble is the Word of GodBut and that if I compare everything anyone says to Scripture (and study it) I will know the Truth.

But that is not the method of knowing the Truth, Emily. Not that you can't obtain Truth that way, but it is not about a BOOK, it is about a person.
30Even as he spoke, many put their faith in him. 31To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
(John 8)
If we don't obey everything Jesus taught, we can't know all the Truth, no matter how much we study, compare and test.

What better way to know the author than to read His Work?

I know. Reading the Bible is awesome it really is. It is the word of God. But we can't really understand it or know the Truth until we obey Jesus. You could read the Bible 1 million times and still be utterly lost and confused.

Good. So then, you have to believe everything Jesus taught. Even about St. Peter, the Church and the Eucharist. ; )

Let's not what?
It's the core of our faith. This website, a Catholic website, so you are just asking for it! Hehe.
One way or another, we make sure that every single thread directs everyone's attention to the truth of the Catholic Church. You should know that about us by now!
But if we're "not" then what can we talk about?
sign....

Yes, Jesus Christ is the Truth. I totally agree. And He, the truth, told us to obey everything He commanded us.
Guess what? He commanded us to submit to the Church, and He built His Church on St. Peter and the Apostles.
It's fine if you all don't want to debate Catholic teachings, but that is the whole point of this website.
If you are here for "fellowship" then I'm really confused (unless you are Catholic) esp. if you are anti Catholic or think our Church is Satantic. Allthough we will gladly "fellowship" with you because even if you don't think we are Christians, we know that both we and you all are.

That's why I said I compare everything anyone tells me to the Word Itself. But OSAS, nor the pretrib rapture compare to scripture. Scripture easily proves both of these beliefs wrong. Why do you still believe them?
